Chemical Reactions

Chemical Reactions

Starting from random initial conditions, this cellular automaton simulates a Reaction-Diffusion process, where local interactions between neighboring cells drive the system’s evolution. Through these interactions, patterns of chemical concentrations spread and react across the grid.

Despite the randomness at the beginning, coherent spatio-temporal patterns emerge, demonstrating how simple rules can lead to the self-organization of complex structures over time.

Interaction:
[1] full speed [2] half speed (default) [3] 1/4 speed [4] 1/8 speed
[0] stop time [s] single resolution (default) [d] double resolution

Mollis Orbes

Mollis Orbes

Generative animation of wandering spheres rendered as soft objects. During their erratic path the spheres meet and merge organically into a single whole (a blob) and then divide again and regain individuality.

The piece is interactive with mouse or touch. In block mode [b] the main parameters change at each new block added to the blockchain.
